This tip is handy when you’re preparing computer training material. It’s also a quick way to get a picture from web content to use in a document or presentation. Take a picture of your Desktop, or a snapshot of the contents of a window.
- Position items on your Desktop as you want them to be in your picture,
- Tap the Print Screen (PrtScn) key -generally next to the F12 key-
to capture a picture of your entire desktop;
or
Alt+PrtScn to capture a picture of the contents of the active window only. - Now, you can open most Windows-based products and Paste the new picture where desired.
If you want to modify the screenshot:
- Open your graphics program
- Paste the image,
- Modify as desired and Save.
