VERSE:
Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. —2 Peter 1:5-8
THOUGHT:
Getting things done, productivity, efficiency, all these sound like they should be business concepts. However, they also have spiritual application. God wants us to be productive in living. We don’t build these spiritual behaviours merely to become holy. Holiness results in practical application. God expects us to do something with them. Our relationship with God is more than just what He does for us or how He makes us feel; we are expected to make a difference in the world around us.
